The three-pass dryer is composed of three concentric cylinders with different diameters nested together. This special structure determines the size of its output. 1. Three-drum nested design to enhance heat exchange efficiency

CATHAY three-pass dryer adopts a unique concentric three-drum nested structure. The inner, middle and outer drums rotate in opposite directions (speed 3-8r/min), forming a reverse contact channel for multiple material flows and hot air flows. After the wet material enters the inner drum from the feed end, it is repeatedly lifted and scattered by the lifting plate, fully mixed with the high-temperature hot air (temperature 150-300℃), and the initial heat exchange is completed; then the material enters the middle drum, and the movement direction is opposite to that of the inner drum, prolonging the thermal contact time and further evaporating the water; finally, it enters the outer drum and completes deep drying in the low-temperature waste heat. This three-pass design prolongs the residence time of the hot air flow in the drum to 2-3 times that of an ordinary single-drum dryer, with a thermal efficiency of more than 85%, saving 30%-40% energy compared to traditional equipment.

2. Widely adapt to wet materials, covering the drying needs of multiple industries

Mining and building materials: Efficiently handle wet aggregates such as slag, quartz sand, and limestone, and dry materials with a moisture content of 15%-30% to a moisture content of 1%-5%, meeting the feed requirements of concrete, mortar and other building materials. Taking slag drying as an example, a single device can process 20-100 tons of wet materials per hour, and the finished product has uniform particle size and no agglomeration.

Metallurgy and chemical industry: Suitable for drying granular materials such as iron powder, aluminum powder, and fertilizers. The low-temperature section design of the middle and outer cylinders prevents overheating and oxidation of materials to ensure product activity. When handling wet fertilizer materials, the nutrient retention rate after drying is more than 98%, which is better than the industry standard.

Agriculture and environmental protection: Dry biomass fuels such as straw and sawdust, as well as municipal sludge (pre-treated into granules), and use medium and low temperature hot air (80-150℃) to achieve safe dehydration, reducing the moisture content from 60%-70% to 10%-20%, which is convenient for storage and combustion.

High drying uniformity: The staggered copying plates in the three cylinders form a uniform material curtain in the cylinder, with no dead angle in contact with the hot air flow, and the moisture content deviation of the finished product is ≤±1%. Taking quartz sand drying as an example, the moisture content fluctuation of different batches of materials is controlled within 0.5%, which meets the raw material requirements of high-end glass manufacturing.

Small footprint: The three-cylinder nested structure makes the equipment length only 1/2-2/3 of the single-cylinder dryer with the same processing capacity, saving more than 40% of the plant space, especially suitable for production line layout with limited space.

Strong overload resistance: heavy-duty gear transmission and variable frequency speed regulation system are used, which can withstand instantaneous 20% feed volume fluctuations, stable equipment operation, and failure rate less than 1%/year.

4. Intelligent temperature control, precise control of drying process

Equipped with PLC intelligent control system, the moisture content of the discharge is monitored in real time through the online moisture meter, and the data of the multi-point temperature sensor in the barrel (measurement accuracy ±2℃) is combined to automatically adjust the hot air furnace temperature, induced draft fan air volume and barrel speed. The system presets more than 10 material drying parameter templates, supports one-click call, and the new material drying curve can be automatically optimized and saved through trial production, reducing debugging time. Operators can remotely monitor the operation status of the equipment through the central control screen, realize unmanned operation, and reduce management costs.

5. Structural design to adapt to complex working conditions

Wear-resistant and anti-corrosion treatment: The inner cylinder and the copying plate are made of high-chromium wear-resistant cast iron (hardness above HRC55), with a service life of more than 5,000 hours; the outer cylinder is made of Q345R low-alloy steel plate, which is treated with sandblasting and high-temperature painting to increase weather resistance by 2 times and adapt to open-air working environments.

Excellent sealing performance: The inlet and outlet ends adopt a labyrinth seal + graphite packing double sealing structure, with a hot air leakage rate of less than 3%, reducing heat loss; the negative pressure design in the cylinder (-50 to -100Pa) avoids dust overflow and improves the working environment.

Recycling of waste heat: After the exhaust gas is purified by the cyclone dust collector, the fresh air is preheated by the heat exchanger to increase the inlet air temperature by 50-80℃, further reducing fuel consumption and saving energy costs of 150,000-300,000 yuan per year (taking 50 tons/hour equipment as an example).
