Dry magnetic separators are mainly used to separate large, coarse-grained strongly magnetic ores and fine-grained weakly magnetic ores. Compared with wet magnetic separators, which use liquid as a diluent to improve separation efficiency, dry magnetic separators require that the minerals to be separated are dry and that the particles can move freely and form an independent free state. Otherwise, the magnetic separation effect will be affected and even the separation will not be possible.

1. Dry separation
Breaking through the dependence of traditional magnetic separation on water, CATHAY dry magnetic separator is specially designed for dry materials and completes magnetic mineral separation without the participation of water. When the dry powder ore (particle size 0.05-5mm) enters the separation chamber evenly through the vibrating feeder, the strong magnetic field area will quickly adsorb the magnetic mineral particles, and the non-magnetic minerals will slide along the surface of the equipment under the action of gravity and centrifugal force. This dry separation mode eliminates the dehydration link, which is especially suitable for water-scarce areas or scenes with high requirements for material dryness, reducing water resource consumption and subsequent drying costs.
2. Strong magnetic drive, outstanding dry material recovery rate
Using rare earth permanent magnet system, the magnetic field strength can reach 6000-12000 Gauss, and the recovery rate of strong magnetic minerals (such as magnetite) in dry state is as high as more than 95%, and the recovery rate of weak magnetic minerals (such as hematite after roasting) can also be stabilized at more than 80%. Taking the dry powder separation of magnetite as an example, after being processed by the equipment, the concentrate grade can be increased from 20%-30% of the original ore to 60%-70%, and the loss rate of magnetic minerals is less than 3%, which effectively improves resource utilization.
3. Adapt to multiple types of dry minerals and a wide range of application scenarios
It can efficiently process magnetic minerals such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted hematite, manganese ore, ilmenite, etc. in a dry state, and can also remove iron impurities in cement and ceramic raw materials. It performs outstandingly in scenarios such as anhydrous mines, dry powder mineral processing, and metallurgical waste slag recycling. It is especially suitable for water-scarce areas in the north or production links that are sensitive to mineral moisture. A single device can be integrated into the dry beneficiation production line to simplify the process flow.
4. Structural design to meet the needs of dry separation
The separation drum is made of wear-resistant cast iron, and the surface is specially hardened with a hardness of HRC55 or above. It can withstand long-term friction of dry powder minerals, and its service life is 2-3 times longer than that of ordinary drums. The magnetic system adopts a fully sealed design to prevent dust from intruding and affecting the stability of the magnetic field. The magnetic field attenuation rate is less than 2%/year, ensuring long-term and efficient sorting. The frame is welded with high-strength steel and equipped with a dust cover design to reduce dust spillage and improve the working environment.
5. Flexible operation and easy parameter adjustment
Equipped with a variable frequency speed regulation system, the drum speed (1-5r/min) and feed amount can be adjusted through the control panel to quickly optimize the sorting parameters for dry ore of different particle sizes. The operating status of the equipment is intuitively visible. The operator can judge the sorting effect by observing the discharge status of the concentrate and tailings. After simple training, he can take up his post, reducing the difficulty of production management.
6. Energy saving and low consumption, economical operating cost
The drive motor adopts the YE3 high-efficiency energy-saving model with a power of only 1.1-3kW, and the energy consumption is 15%-20% lower than that of similar equipment. When running at full load, the annual electricity saving can reach more than 1500 degrees. The equipment has a simple structure and few wearing parts. Daily maintenance mainly includes cleaning the drum surface and checking the bearing lubrication. The annual maintenance cost is controlled within 2% of the total equipment price, which is suitable for cost-sensitive production scenarios.
7. Multiple specifications are available to meet different production capacity requirements
Single-roll, double-roll, triple-roll and other specifications are available. The processing capacity of a single unit covers 0.5-20 tons/hour, which can be flexibly selected according to the processing scale of dry mineral materials. The equipment occupies a small area (about 1.5-4㎡ per unit), and the installation does not require a complex foundation. It can be quickly embedded in the existing dry production line to meet the installation requirements of different site conditions.
